BOWMAN, Placer County — Placer County’s western-area project directory includes a bridge rehabilitation at Dry Creek Road and Rock Creek in the Auburn/Bowman region, with construction currently identified as beginning in 2028.
Bridges on local roads carry school traffic, deliveries, emergency vehicles and trips between unincorporated communities. The planned project has been identified in the county capital project list, along with other Auburn/Bowman transportation and safety priorities. This is a future infrastructure project, not evidence that the bridge is closed today.
Residents should distinguish a planned rehabilitation from emergency bridge repair. County engineering and environmental processes may change work sequencing, and detours should only be treated as valid after official announcements. A bridge-rehabilitation listing alone does not establish how long traffic restrictions will last.
What residents should do
Anyone who relies on Dry Creek Road can monitor the Placer County public project list and subscribe to current road notices. If a bridge or nearby road is damaged during storms, call the relevant public-works office rather than assume the future rehabilitation project addresses the hazard immediately.
