BOWMAN, Placer County — Residents of Bowman and nearby unincorporated Auburn can report potholes, damaged signs and roadside vegetation hazards to Placer County’s Road Maintenance Division if the affected route is county maintained.
The county states that it maintains more than 1,000 centerline miles of unincorporated roads and 125 bridges, and offers an online reporting route through Placer County Connect. It also handles roadside hazard vegetation, traffic markings, drainage related to county roadways and emergency response when road conditions threaten safe travel.
Not all streets with a Bowman mailing address are managed by the county. Private roads, state highways and streets within Auburn city limits fall under other authorities. A roadway complaint should include the closest address or cross street and description of the problem, which helps staff determine who is responsible.
What residents should do
Placer County lists its Roads Division at 11428 F Avenue, Auburn, and telephone 530-745-7565. Serious immediate road hazards should be reported promptly through the appropriate emergency service rather than waiting for a routine online ticket.
